I went in there a week or so ago with a dry skin issue... gotta love that Boston weather!
Anyway, the woman who helps me was so super sweet and willing work with me - I honestly felt like she was actually concerned about me and wanted to help me out.
It's not cheap to shop here but it's worth it in the end. My skin is again happy, soft, and loving' life!!
I picked up some Herbalism, Sea Salt, Tea Tree Water, and Vanishing Cream. Got a free pineapple soap too!

However - They now label all vegan products as being so. No more wondering, researching or asking.

I wouldn't normally be the first to sing the praises of a cosmetics store, but there is something so alluring about this Newbury oasis. It's a bazaar of rich, warm-smelling soaps and indulgent bath items. That's good enough, but better yet are the cute girls dedicated to finding the right product for you. (I have had the good fortune of being introduced to Prince, the only shaving cream that doesn't leave my skin dry and irritated.)
The staff has an unusual characteristic in that they genuinely want you to have a good experience, to love their products as much as they obviously do. It's not surprising that some people misread their enthusiasm as something more cynical; step through the door of most Newbury stores and you'll likely feel that the staff would rather you just have not bothered them. Here, their love for the company (it's commitment to charity and animal rights) and natural, safe, handmade products is contagious. Their wealth of product knowledge will point you in the right direction; their frequent parties and promotions will help save your wallet, though they never charge more than what the product is worth. What you'll find here is honesty: honest products, honest customer service. That's rare, and that's something to cherish.
